Who Will?

Who will sit with the destitute?

Who will tell their story?

Who will share their pain?

Who will mourn with those who mourn, and laugh with those who laugh?

Who will reach into the darkness?

Who will go to the dirty places?

Who will talk to them? Who will bathe them, clothe them, hear them? Who will love them?

We will. We will be known by our works.

Pure religion is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
